Universal Basic Education (UBE):

Launched in 1999 under President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Broader than UPE—it covers 9 years of basic education:

6 years of Primary

3 years of Junior Secondary

Eradicate illiteracy and ignorance.

Provide relevant life skills.

Reduce dropout rates.
